In 2019 I started to experiment with prisms during a night-time long exposure. What began as a spontaneous test out of curiosity, gradually developed into a photographic technique of my own, which I continually refined and expanded over the years.
At the core of the work is the act of experimentation itself. Using prisms, light refraction, and deliberate movement during the exposure, I create colorful light trails and painterly effects directly in-camera during the exposure, not afterwards in Post-Production.
Unlike conventional architectural photography, these images do not present buildings and urban spaces in a purely documentary way. Instead, they also incorporate the light that surrounds them, making visible colors, reflections, and sources of light that may not even appear inside the frame, yet still shape the atmosphere of the scene in that exact moment.
Intention and unpredictability play equally important roles in this series. It is also what makes the works distinctive: no image can be exactly replicated another time, not even by myself. Each photograph is the result of a unique combination of place, time, light, movement, and technical decision.
